I am sending you this from Annecy. I assume that you have heard about the recent shootings in Paris. I wanted to let you know that I am okay. The shooting was far away in Paris. My apartment in Paris was fairly close to the shooting but luckily I was in Annecy. Our apartment was 2 kilometers from the first shooting at Charlie Hebdo. I heard about what happened on the news. It was a very devastating terrorist attack. Paris is mourning the losses of 12 innocent people. After publishing controversial magazine covers showing the face of Muhammad, terrorists attacked the magazine office killing employees of Charlie Hebdo. Two other attacks happened after the shooting at the ofiice of Charlie Hebdo taking the lives of more innocent people. The reaction to the magazine cover was violent and unnecessary. I give my condolences to those mourning the loss of family and friends. I promise you that I am safe in Annecy. I hope you are doing well in California. There is no need to worry about me.
